I overdid it

I have a habit of underplaying issues--mostly at work, I'd like to think. The past two weeks have been crazy: I'm supposed to document changes made to a product in its first patch, and I have to collect information from a lot of people. The trap? Nobody seems to be quite sure of what they're doing or saying! I have been chasing people, literally (shuttling between 3 floors of the office building) and virtually (over emails), but there isn't much coming out of it. It's a sorry situation and in some cases totally unacceptable--developers and QA not verifying the material I have written, and giving me a sign-off. I keep wondering what is wrong with people? Why can't they want to do the right thing? How can they agree to deliver half-hearted, shoddy work? Why can't people put more time and efforts into planning, and set aside a buffer for things that go wrong?
Anyway, I think about these issues, put them aside and try to do the best I can with what I have. I've been pushing so many things to the back of my mind that it all comes out in the wrong ways. Last night I cried myself to sleep. I hit the bed but was just not able to transport myself to slumberland. There was a little quarrel I had with hubby in the evening too. So he wasn't trying to cuddle me into sleeping. When he finally held my hand I just couldn't bear it and shed all those tears and snot. I think I slept dreamlessly, but still did not feel rested in the morning.

Maybe they just don't care and wanna get it over with as soon as they can? I get a lot of this too...

Yes, that's what bothers me. The "don't care" attitude. Why can't people make an effort to really "earn" their fat paychecks?
Apparently it's a universal phenomenon. I thought people in other, supposedly fun professions like yours, or the movies would at least love their jobs enough to give their best shot. But from what you say, it's not true. Sigh!

Oh I LOVE my job. It's probably the second best thing that ever happened to me. I have had the same job for 6 years, and I am not looking for a change. But all professions have some people who are like this. There are bound to be some people who are just doing it for the money, instead of really liking what they're doing, which would be the ideal situation.

It definately is true in all work places. 'm trying to be optimistic and think for a reason..mmm.. may be these ppl are not motivated enuf. I remember when my last project was shut coz client was short of budget ..in the last few weeks my team mates didn want to work at all.. out of frustration and annoyance.
But some ppl don need a reason for not working. They come to office simply for social networking and FARTing (read as making noise without making any sense out of it). They are a real drain on the entire project.

Thanks for stopping by, Nits.

On a different note... saw the garden flowers in your blog. Isn't it a lovely feeling to see the grow?! My garden has been void of flowers since a few months now... the poor plants are barely surviving :(
